When is the nikon D5000 upgrade going to be announced?
Hi, i'm looking for my first dslr and i don't want to buy an out dated one so i want to know when nikons going to release their next dslr
Most upgrades are introduced 18 to 24 months after the initial introduction of the older models
There's another way photographers "upgrade" their cameras. That is to NOT buy a new entry level camera, but the next level up. That would be the Nikon D7000 or event the D300s
Hopefully the mad dash for a new camera model every two years or so is over.
While there may be some little minor things a photographer could wish for, most of the current cameras have enough technology built into them that they can produce professional quality images as long as the user has the necessary skills.

When the new potential D5000 replacement is announced, the D5100 should basically be a D3100 with a swivel LCD
Possible in April (2 years since d5000 announcement) But nikon are know for release their new dslr in much slower pace than Canon, Canon always updated their rebel every year even though is very minor upgrade. However there's rumors nikon be annouce mirrorless camera instead at that time, and might push d5000 replacement late or might not happened if the mirror-less sell well.
