What's the difference between the Nikon D5000 and the D90?
I've been looking at the specification, and they don't seem much different, but the D90 is quite a bit more expensive! Why is this?
The D5000 has no AF motor, so not all lenses will auto focus. The D90 is faster (4.5 vs 4fps), has better AF system, is rougher and built better but image quality and noise performance is the same.
Here's a post called 'Buying a DSLR, what's important, megapixels, features, brand, price, quality and which one to buy - http://www.the-dslr-photographer.com/2009/03/which-dslr-to-buy.html
Good luck! The site has many more tutorials, tips, reviews and guides!
The D90 is a more advanced camera for a more serious user. The D5000 is closer to a entry level camera while the D90 is closer to the semi-pro level.
The D90 has better seals and is better built. The D90 may have metal parts where the D5000 has plastic. You get what you pay for in the camera world.
