Hi can you give me a list of good microphones for the nikon d3200 that are a reasonable price?

I'm hearing a lot of noise these days about the Rohde brand. You can shop here.

Nikon recommends the ME1, but it is fairly expensive.

Someone will also recommend either a Sennheiser or Shure, and while they are good mics, they can cost more than your camera.

I use an Audio Technica PRO 24.It is not the highest end mic, but it works for me - and you can't argue with the price.

I think I paid around $45 for mine, so I do see the price went up just a bit. Still, not a bad price for a budget mic. And it certainly works better than the internal mic on the camera.

One thing I do like about the Audio Technica is it can be self powered (with an internal battery) or powered by the camera (via the audio cable). Most Nikon cameras can power the mic, so there's no need to keep an extra set of batteries for the mic.

If you want to spend a little more for a shotgun mic (longer range), then the Rode Videomic is a good choice.

So I'm giving you two choices; a budget mic for $60, and a mid-priced mic for $160.
