Why do you think it came with an 18-55mm?

Stick with that until you can answer this for yourself.

When it comes to choosing the best lens for street photography, most experienced shooters will either go with a 35mm or 50mm prime lens equivalent. Since you're using an APS-C camera, the equivalent would be either a 24mm or a 35mm lens respectively. Which one is best for you will depend upon your personal preferences. Some prefer the wider 35 (24mm in aps-c) and some prefer the 50mm (35mm in aps-c).

The best way to determine which you like best is to set your 18-55mm kit lens to 24mm and tape the lens barrel so it doesn't change from that position. Then go out shooting and see how you like using that specific focal length. Next, do the same thing but with the lens taped down to the 35mm position. Which ever one you like best is the focal length of a prime lens that you should get.

Keh.com is probably my favorite place to buy used equipment.

To find out how sharp various lenses are, go to which is a great website that shows exactly how sharp each lens is. Unlike many other places that use complicated line-graph MTF charts, opticallimits uses real numbers allowing you to quickly and easily see which lens is sharper and by how much.

For everything, meaning an all-in-one lens that you would hate to swap in and out, you get the lens with the most zoom X's you can afford.

Go for at least an 18-200mm. The best would be the 16-300mm.
