There's an entire page in the manual to tell you - if you've lost the paper one, you can download an electronic copy (free) from Nikon.

If you want to go for third-party lenses, make sure they're motorised, or you won't get autofocus.

That would be any Nikon F-mount lens except for the very old non-AI and the very rare F3AF.

To preserve autofocus however, you will be limited to lenses with an internal focus motor. With Nikon those would be marked by either the AF-S or AF-I specs. It's harder to tell with other lens brands so check specs meticulously for the presence of an internal AF motor or better yet look at the mount. If some electrical contacts are "missing", the lens has no AF motor. If the series is complete with no vacant space then it probably can AF with your camera. See pic below. The AF-D lens on the left has no built-in motor while the AF-S lens on the right has.
