I want a nikon d60 lens adapter for my jcpenney 52mm I just got today off a friend. Google isn't helping in my search. If anyone could tell me where I can find one i'd greatly appreciate it!

We need more information.

52 mm is standard filter size used by many Nikkor lenses

The chances of a JC Penney lens fitting a Nikon camera is pretty slim.

Other than the lens being "52 mm" and from JC Penney, what else is on the lens? F/stop? Focal length?
mount type?

Apparently, JC Penney made generic lenses for Canon FD, Minolta MD and Pentax M42 mounts long ago. Even if they did make one with a Nikon F-mount, it would not work with your D60. Your D60 needs a lens with electrical contacts, preferably a Nikkor AF-S lens.

Chances are that the lens WILL work with your camera if you get the proper adapter, but you will need to use it in manual mode because the camera won't detect the lens.

Does your lens have a marking like this: Ø=52mm? If it does, that means that it takes 52mm filters. It's not the focal length of the lens. There's probably another marking on it like f=__mm; this is the lens' focal length. The lens should also be marked with the maximum aperture, which would probably look something like 1:2.8. (The number after the colon might be different.)

Without knowing exactly what the mount on your lens is, it's impossible to link to an adapter that will work with it. However, there's a site I stumbled across while I was looking for information on a lens I was considering buying for my kit that might help you identify what the mount is: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-99.html If you can figure out what it is based on the photos on that page, head to Amazon.com and search for "[mount type] to Nikon F adapter." My kit includes an M42 to Nikon F adapter that's made by Fotodiox, and it works very well.

We need to know the lens mount of your lens which should be stated on it. Usually as code letters, 'C' for Canon, 'P' or 'PK' for Pentax K, if it a screw thread lens mount it will probably be an M42 mount.

Nikon are the worst cameras for using other manufacturers generic lenses as the lens mount to sensor distance is the longest of all manufacturers, to this you have to add the adapter distance, this means that unless the lens is a Nikon mount you will not be able to focus on infinity. Some older lenses could focus slightly past infinity, but rarely enough to be used on a Nikon.

There are lens adaptors for Nikon with a conversion lens included, but this is more of a workaround than a cure, the adaptors are also more expensive.
