What kind of lens do i need to take infant pictures?
I have just purchased a nikon d3000. I'm expecting a child in a few months and was interested in taking pictures of my little one. I love the pictures with the newborns in the beanie hats and cacoons. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a lens that would help me take excellent pictures.i've been reading about the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 DX. Can anyone help?
The 35mm F1.8 or 50mm F1.8 or F1.4 would be fine. The kit lens that came with your camera would be fine as well. Keep in mind that the lens you mention is smack in the middle of the range that you already have. The only real advantage is that it is a much faster lens. This means that you need much less light to take a picture. It will also give you a shallower depth of field.
Remember that with the 35mm F1.8 there's no zoom. The lens is set at 35mm. Set your 18-55mm lens at 35mm and this will be the same field of view as the 35mm will give you.
For the nikon D3000 you need specially the following type lens.
i had heard more about Nikon AF-S DX VR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED Lens which is better for nikon D3000. Which is really good one.
*VR II Vibration Reduction technology provides a four-steps-faster shutter speed

*Delivers high-resolution and contrast, outstanding image quality, and fantastic photographic versatility
*Lens incorporates two ED glass and three aspheric lens elements
