What do I need to connect my D3100 to studio lights?

I have a Nikon D3100 and have just started assisting in a studio. How do I connect my D3100 to the studio lighting?
Do I need a wireless trigger or is there some kind of connector I can buy with a sync port?
Please could you recommend specific items as I'm new to all this! Looking to spend less than £100

A sync cord if you have a sync port on the side of your camera (Canon owner, so don't know yours) or a hot shoe adapter for sync cord or wireless radio control using hot shoe.http://cgi.ebay.com/PT04-Wireless-Radio-Flash-Slave-Trigger-2Rx-NIKON-CANON-/280533509330?pt=Camera_Flash_Accessories&hash=item415119a4d2
