Nikon SLR Cameras

What are some good lenses for making good videos for a Nikon D7000?

I'm trying to get into the video business. And I've got a stock lens 18-105mm, and I was curious as to what other lenses would be good for music videos, or any other type of video.

If you wanna get into the video business then a DSLR is definitely the wrong way. You're better off buying a proper video camera.

Anyway, when shooting video with a DSLR you wanna keep your ISO as low as possible to minimize noise. That's why you should go for fast lenses that let in more light (they have a lower f number like f/2.8, f/1.8 or f/1.4). Good prime lenses at reasonable prices would be the Nikkor 50mm (or 35mm) f/1.8 or the 50mm f/1.4.
Good zoom lenses would be the Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 and of course the amazing 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200 f/2.8 lenses. They're the best of the best Nikon makes, but they are very very expensive.

As alternatives you can look into the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8, the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 and the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8.

There are quite a few pretty good lenses from Sigma and Tamron that are not as expensive as the Nikkors but get you great results. You can look for them on places like amazon.com, adorama.com or bhphotovideo.com.

You should sell the 7000 and get an actual video camera. Despite popular belief, DSLRs are not good for video and are not replacements for actual video cameras. DSLRs = meant to shoot stills, video cameras = meant to record video.
