Comparing some lenses, need some suggestions?

I want a decently quick lens with about a f/2.8 and roughly 18mm-200mm. I have a Nikon D300s and wanted a lens for multiple uses. I didn't want to pay over $1500, I'm unfortunately on a budget for this lens. I was looking at:
Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro AF Lens for Nikon AF
Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM APO Lens for Nikon F
Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG APO OS HSM for Nikon
I've got a rough comparison from BH here:

I'm open to other suggestions though. I was just looking for some feedback to get a better idea of what exactly I was looking at getting.

Stick with Nikon lenses.

The Nikkor 18-200 mm lens is a good single lens solution.
I use it for nearly all my editorial and motocross assignments

I only want to buy a specific lens one time. For that reason I avoid buying ANY generic lenses.
I have Nikkor lenses that are over 40 years old which still work just fine.
Unless you are shooting indoor sports or runway fashion, an f/2.8 lens is not really necessary

@ace I absolutely hate the 18-200… Unacceptable softness to my mind and awful CA, glad you get on with it OK though.
To the OP: I'd be looking at the APO 70-200 lens if it's within your budget, it's bound to be a reasonable lens, perhaps not as good as a Nikkor but still capable of producing high quality images.
There are Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8 lenses that would be within your budget… They are pretty good lenses if you don't mind having a slightly older lens attached to your D300s.
