What about Nikon D60 18-55mm?

There's a friend of my friend who is selling his Nikon D60 18-55mm camera.

For 350 USD.

I'm a total newbie to systemcameras. But I do have the money.

Added (1). I really love taking pictures. Especially close up ones.

I think my iPhone 4 camera is great, but I'm ready for a better camera.

You can buy a D60 new for only a few $$ more. I wouldnt pay that much. Offer 200-250.

Then buy the D60 body and get the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G.

That would be a grabbing deal.

You can't buy the D60 new anywhere, it was discontinued years ago.

The price is actually reasonable, provided you get all the other stuff that should be with it, like a battery and charger and cables and CD and all that "box" stuff. If it is missing any of that, I'd lower the price I'd be willing to pay.

The iPhone camera is a toy compared to a DSLR.
