Want to buy Canon Pixma MG8120 Printer, will it work with my Nikon D5000 camera?

I'm looking for a printer to print great pictures and do not need an all in one. After looking for a while, I think the Canon Pixma MG8120 is what I want to get.

This printer has a feature that works with making photos out of video. Will this work with my D5000 video, or only on Canon cameras?
Are Canon printers for everyone, or mainly made for use with a Canon camera?

I want to make sure I do not buy this and find out that some of the features I can't use with my Nikon camera.

Is there anything else on this printer that would not work with me camera?

Canon printers will print pictures from any camera.
I do not know if the exact feature you want will work with Nikon camera video.

You will need a program to extract still pictures from your movies. I think you need to do more research.

I use all Nikon and use canon printers for Image printing.
