Tripod for Nikon D70 DSLR?

I'm looking for a good tripod that is light, yet sturdy. The heaviest combo I would use is a nikon d70, sigma 70-300 lens, and a nikon sb600 flash. I don't want it too expensive either. Like $150 is max. Is buying benro legs (about $80) and a benro or slik ballhead (about $60) separately better than buying one like the slik pro 340bh tripod with ballhead included (about $150)?

I shoot with a Canon 1000D with a similar lens. I have three tripods all from Wal Mart at about $30.
They are sturdy, strong yet very light.

The best recommendation I can give you is, regardless of the pod you pick, never - and I do mean never walk away from a camera mounted on a tripod… Always take the camera down first.

I spent a career doing broadcast television news / sports photography. So many of my colleagues smade that costly mistake.

Velbon sherpa series… Not the ballhead ones, you can never shoot panoramic photos with that…

I like the Redi-Tilt at that price point.

Check out Manfrotto 190XPROB 3 Section Aluminum Pro Tripod.
I think it's the best. This tripod is well built, light weight, stable, good for back packing.
The tripod's unique design allows the photographer to use the center column
horizontally as an extending arm or vertically
