Tamron AF 18-200 mm F3.5 - F6.3 Di-II on Nikon D3100?

I wanted to know whether I can use Tamron AF 18-200 mm F3.5 - F6.3 Di-II lens with my Nikon D3100 camera? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

If it has the same bayonet, you can. Tamron lenses advantage is that they are cheaper than the original Nikon lenses, but also can be good. I'm using Tamron 70-300 on my camera and I have had no problems. But in this case there can be problem with distortion and aberation, I would recommend to buy rather something that zooms at least from 50 and some wide angle one. It is good combination.
