Nikon SLR Cameras

Suggestions for a good DSLR case/carrier?

I recently got a DSLR camera (a Nikon D5000) as a gift. While I really like the camera, I don't like carrying it around with the neckstrap, which is uncomfortable and too conspicuous for my taste. I was wondering if there were any good holsters or cases or something with which I could carry around my camera.

I'd like…
-To be able to pull the camera out and stow it back in quickly, so it doesn't take me a solid minute to pull the camera out, take a picture, then put it back in.
-The case to be reasonably lightweight
-It to not display the camera so prominently
-The case to protect the camera reasonably well.
-A case that is not too big.

All of the above items are preferences and not really requirements, except for the first one, which is pretty important to me.

Something to consider is will you be buying more lenses for the camera? If so a you may outgrow a holster type case quickly. Also the lens length on the camera will definitely need to be a consideration with a holster.

Here are two sites with holsters for your camera:

For security use the Lowepro 200
-Can only access the camera from the back of the Bag, consequently you have to take off the bag to access the camera. The good news is If your in a third world country or a crowd no one will be able to take your Camera. Fits all your accessories and 3 lenses. Tripod holder is a nice feature.

For ease of use Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW
-Sling style bag, easily access your camera while it is still on. Also can fit a tripod. Not quite as comfortable as a back pack but excellent accessibility.

These are two great bags. Lowepro makes the best stuff. They also have the bigger version of both these bags 202 aw and 300. Check out there whole line of bags on amazon, you won't be sorry.
