I'm looking to buy the Nikon d60 with a good case and an 8 GB SD card. If possible I'd like the 2 lens kit but thats more. Any suggestions on where I can pick this all up for, I want a good reputable site and it here within a week!

That is a little too much for a 3 year old camera that cost under $600 with a 18-55 mm lens when new.

8 gb cards class 10 cards were on sale for $12 last weekend, so not a big deal

Look on craigslist for such cameras in a city near you and see what is available.

Even a much newer Nikon D3000 costs less than your $750 budget if you can find a new one.

You get what you pay for. Both in the quality of the camera and lens and also the dealer you get it from. You can get a really slow and cheap sd card but you will hate it because it will slwo down the d60 even slower than it already is. Its only 3 frames per second and a slow card coudl make that 1 frame a second because of the super small buffer nikon put in it!

Best places I saw online was B&H photo or Amazon. That is where I just ordered my new lens for my Canon 30D I bought used from a friend since he got the 40D, and where my friend suggested I look. He also said Samyscamera.com but they were a little more.

Spend a few $$ more on your visa, and get the XSI, you will be happier, with the larger screen, better sensor, higher resale value later, and overall better camera! YOu can spend a few $$ more now, or in a yr or so have to upgrade again and spend a lot more then…

You can get the D60 camera, two lenses, and a camera bag for $729.98. Yes they are reputable and a very good place to buy from. It don't have the SD card but you can pick that up cheap enough. It is called Ritz Camera. Here is the site.

Considering how cheap the d60 is, you should be able to get it that way, however you get what you pay for! Beware of cheap memory cards, as they are going to be very slow. Granted the d60 is a pretty slow camera, but even the slower SD cards will slow it down a lot! As for a case, you need to go check them out and see what style you like. I have about 8-10 different camera bags, and then 2 large hard cases. You want a bag that is easy to get to when you are shooting and easy to carry. I like the Tamrac Velocity Series. I have the 8x, and I have ordered a 9x for this summer. Its my simple carry bag to take a camera and a couple lenses with me. For what you are describing a velocity 6-7 would be great!

I assume you have compared the d60 side by side with the rebel xsi and are willing to make the sacrafices to save a few $ on the image quality, the much higher noise in the higher ISO range(almost a full stop difference between the Canon and Nikon! So thus the Canon performs much better in low light when you need the higher ISO), as well as the smaller screen on the d60 and the lens limitations you will have as well as the lower resale value in the future. Also the 20% increase in MP for the Canon over the nikon (12mp versus 10mp)

I would suggest you get what ever you want to buy, from a big store with a good rep. I have several I buy from, including, B&H Photo, Hunts Camera and Photo (talk to gary farber), Samys Camera, Adorama, and even Amazon (direct from amazon, not to often from its partners!) Also if you are a college student or in a photography class, check out the Tamron website as they have special discounted prices or rebates for students as well, and that might help you get some quality glass at a lower price. Remember, you get what you pay for, and a cheap sensor gives soso images, and pair it with cheap glass and you will have poor results!

Good Luck and happy shooting, but check out these places see which has the best deal for what you want and then place the order. Amazon prices can change daily btw!
