Sony a33 or Pentax K-r, which DSLR?
I desperately need to buy Great DSLR around this price tag. By searching days and nights on internet, I've shortlisted these two cameras. With same price tag other brands like Nikon and Canon does not stand anywhere of these two. But i'm very confused in between. I'm not sure whether il get that holding DSLR feeling with sony a33, it has amazing video capture options but i'm not into videos much. I'm concern about picture quality and reliability… GUYS Please Help!
Added (1). Thanks for that DxOMark link, it was very helpful, D7000 is not within my budget. Please guys give me strAight answer… Which camera i should buy among these two… And id really luv 2 go wid pentax: P
Here's what I would do:
Go down to a tech store, like Best Buy, and physically try the cameras out. See which one feels better in your hands and/or features you like.
Sensor wise, the Pentax performs better: http://www.dxomark.com/...d2)/Pentax
Are you sure that the Nikon D7000 can't out perform the Sony A33?
I suggest you visit a proper camera store and try both out. I think you will be surprised
You can visit the two types of review. Then compare I hope you can do to help.
The Sony a33 is a very intriguing camera. With the pellicle mirror, there's no mirror movement which should make the camera not only very fast, but also very quiet and no camera shake from movement of the mirror. You also get real time focus in live view and video modes which NO other DSLR manufacturer offers, Sony is the only one who does. Also, Sony is one of only a few manufacturers who have image stabilization built into the body, rather than the lens, so all lenses are stabilized on a Sony. And there are a lot of lenses out there for Sony because the mount is the same that was used by Minolta for the Maxxum line of cameras and lenses.
Ultimately, you will need to get your hands on some cameras and see for yourself what you think. I love my Sony, and have been very happy with it, so no complaints, but I didn't choose it just by asking what other people thought of it. I went and compared cameras myself and now that I know a lot more than I did at the time, I still believe I made the right choice.
Since you stated in your "Additional Details" that "… I'd really love to go with Pentax… " then go with the Pentax K-r.
Enjoy your new Pentax.
It will be much better to settle for a used Canon / Nikon rather than these two. You will love the flexibility and control of Canon 450D with range of lenses to choose from.
