Shotgun mic on Nikon D3100?

Been using a Nikon D3100 for video recording for a bit now and just got a new shotgun mic. Unfortunately i realized that the D3100 only has an Audio Out jack on it. Any way to get the mic connected directly to the camera? If not, any recommendation as to how to get better audio for the D3100.

Nope. There's only two things you can do. Buy a camera that has audio in or buy a separate recorder and loop the audio in post.
