Shoot Glamour In A Bar?
I plan to bring a shoot through umbrella, reflector, my Nikon D70. I have done studio work and outdoor work. Never in this setting. Can anyone give me any ideas on how to deal with the setting and the general terrible lighting in a bar? Serious answers only please. Just looking for a jump off point.
Added (1). Part of it is during business hours and part is after hours. So for a small part there will be an audience
Most bars have "real" lighting, they just turn it way down or off when open for business.
Try to schedule a time to shoot and have the bar owner turn on the main lights. It may be after the bar closes in the early AM hours…
When is this shoot going to be happening?
I have shot in the late afternoon in such venues when there are not too many patrons in the bar and all the excitement of my makeup artist and hair stylist as well as my lighting setup, seems to bring more people in just to get a glimpse of behind the scenes of a real shoot
Some bars have stages with proper lighting and you can use the stage and your additional lighting to enhance the shoot as well.
Just get creative and take charge.
