Night club/bar SLR photography without flash light - Nikon D3100?
Hi. I have a Nikon D3100 (with 18-55mm and 55-200mm objectives). I want to do some bar/club photography (during night - so low light levels) without using built-in flash. I don't have a extra flash source and not interested duing with any flash (not disturbing people).
What's should be my camera settings and your advises for that kind of shoots? Like ISO? Apperture? Shuttle speed? Some other settings?
You kit lenses are too slow. But hey, everyone has to start somewhere.
Set your ISO to 800, put the camera in aperture priority and set to the lowest f/stop for your zoom. Hold as stead as you can. With the 18-55mm, you should be able to hold steady at 1/30 or more. If you have VR, you can go slower. If you still can't shoot at those setting bump up your ISO until you are able to do it.
