Remote flash D3100 and SB-700?
I have a Nikon D3100 and a SB-700 flash and I want to use the flash remotely. How can I make this work? I would like everything to be wireless, but I'm open to a long cable if that's my only option. Thank you!
Added (1). Could I use the Nikon AS-15 Sync cable? Or the Nikon SU-800?
Your camera does not have a built-in remote commander. But the SU-800 does provide that function, so that would be the most logical choice.
If you want to go with cables, I believe the SC-28 or SC-29 are the ones you want. They have an uncoiled length of 10ft or so.
You can use the flash wirelessly with radio triggers such as the Yongnuo RF-602, but only on manual power. It would probably be more useful to you to get another SB-700 rather than the SU-800 as the flash can be used as a master controller as well as a slave. This gives you the advantage of having two flashes as well as being able to use i-ttl wirelessly.
