Can anyone please provide a comparison photo taken from a 50mm f1.8 and 18-55mm @ f3.5
All setting should be the same except th f-value.

Added (1). I have a Nikon D5000

Added (2). 80% of my shots are indoor

No but here's a photo I did with my 50mm f/1.8 by Canon. This is basically the same lens.
No additional light by the way, only blinds closed, natural room light.

If you are looking to blur the background in your portraits then go for the f/1.8. No need to compare shots. It's technical. You will get that blur if you know exactly what you're doing, even at f/3.5.

Your request makes no sense. Using a different aperture is the main thing that will make a difference in two photos. Comparing two lenses while using two different aperture settings will make a comparison between the two photos useless.

What body do you have? If its a D3000 D3100 D5000 or D40 etc then you may find the 50mm doesn't work well on your body; you really should be using a D90 or above, so you have aperture coupling, non-stop down TTL metering and body controlled AF.

At similar apertures the 50mm will be sharper and will have less distoritions, the 50 adds a couple of extra stops at the low end, which opens up options for shutter speed and iso.

The biggest difference is that you will learn to zoom with your feet and without knowing it, you will learn a bit about perspective.

As I said though, that you already have a 18-55 f3.5 lens suggests kit lens for budget body, if you are a novice then this probably isn't the lens for you to use with a budget body.

I would opt for something like this instead:
