I purchased a Nikon D3200 DSLR *(18-55 VR Lens) the other day. Pleased with the camera. My First DSLR. I started shooting manual and am learning fast… Tonight I shot some photos and was wondering if anyone could help me. I used a tripod in a few shots. I payed close attention to the meter and set my ISO, Fstop, SS accordingly.

Here is my FLICKR Account:

The last 3 photos I uploaded seem under exposed. I shoot in RAW (these are JPG versions)

This could be due to maybe not holding camera still?

So my question is, are these shots underexposed. And what would YOU have done differently if you were shooting with my lense. My settings are included in description. It is the most recent 3 uploaded.

They are OK snapshots but you need to get a bit more originality and impact in your shots.
I'm just wondering why you are jumping ahead so fast into using manual and RAW with a camera you only purchased a few days ago.
Most start using Auto and gradually progress as they understand the camera and functions more.

I agree with Photofox's first line. There's nothing there that makes me want to keep looking. Work on your subjects and composition. WHAT are you taking a picture of? WHY are you taking that picture? WHAT are you trying to show us?
About the exposure: The house shots are a little dark and dull for me but that may just be a personal thing.
I don't agree about the Auto Mode thing thing. I started out in Aperture Mode and worked my way into Manual. I think it's great that you just dove right into that part.
