What should i get?
I used it for my nikon d3100, & just looking to do effects, hdr, basic things, & new things i would learn
from my digital arts program at school.
I tried both of them & i like both of them, but paintshop price is way freaking cheaper than adobe photoshop.

Nothing wrong with Paint Shop Pro… I used it for years and still use it for certain features it utilizes even better than Photoshop. These programs are no different than each other as far as getting things done. They have the same basic tools and settings for them (most settings anyway), but you might have to use them differently to get certain things done. For example drop shadow in Paint Shop Pro is done and accessed differently than it is in Photoshop, but they both provide drop shadow effects.

So don't worry about paying $1000 for some extra bells and whistles that one program has over another. Anything you can do in Photoshop, you can find a way to get it done in any other program of it's kind. Some programs just take more work and effort than others.
