Nikon DSLR D3100 Price comparisson.difference?

Hi
I'm new to photography and planning to buy my first SLR. I'm looking at the Nikon D3100. I'm confused on why the 'body only' camera is more expensive than the one with 18-55mm lense?
i've posted the link to the website that is selling them
With Lense
http://www.currys.co.uk/...9-pdt.html
Body only
http://www.currys.co.uk/...1-pdt.html
I'm working abroad so can't ask the shop staff myself
If I'm missing something and its a well known reason why this is please tell me

Um, because the one with the lens comes with the lens. The lens costs money.
The body only has no lens. No cost for the lens because it isn't there.

I have read somewhere that Nikon don't sell the D3100 as a body only it either comes with a 18-55mm lens or as a Package with a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm lens. I think they are £399 and £499 respectively.
I have just bought the 2 lens package. Its very good

The one with the lens is on sale. The body only version is not.
If you look at the page with the kit you can see the striked out the orginal price of £579.
The body only is not on sale at this time and is full price. The camera bodies are exactly the same. Get the one with the lens, save money and get more.

I presume individually there are many things that can be happening.
Most probable one >> See there's a thing known as 'Dealership Discounts'. What happens is suppose you are Mr Dealer and you buy 100 nos. Nikon D700 cameras… So the Nikon makers gives 10 nos D3100 cameras free (as bonus)** … So what Mr Dealer does is he sells the Nikon D3100 at a lumpsum price of say 300$… And its sheer profit for him… Even if he sells it at 200$ its profit even then… But suppose you want a body only D3100 so he has the go outside the serial number which has been provided free with the D700 so he has to charge u more than the other 300$ discount price. I think you can understand… Same goes on.
Sometimes what the dealers do is they substract something which is otherwise originally provided by the Nikon & Canon dealers and instead charge less… Say for example Nikon provides 2 yrs service warrenty, sometimes in huge multudealer electronic shops what they do is they give you stock
clearence at a low cost, but they give you only 1 year warrenty…
See what i suggest is best is since you seem to be getting your 1st DSLR, go for an Original Nikon shop/dealer and not via any website… Even if you pay a bit more/less, the thing you get will be more 'authentic'…
Instead of askin in the Photography section if you would have asked it in the 'Economic' etc section then you would have got more answers than you got here… Its more about how the market works rather than photography really… Lol
** The Nikon Company has 2 options…
1) Give a discount of 300$ on every 2500$ camera. (on bulk buying)
2) Give Free cameras and not give any discount (on bulk buying)
Many dealers who think they can churn out enough profit from the market go for Option 2 as they can make any profit they want on selling the 'Free Cameras'.Smaller dealers who are not sure of their investments go for option 1…
