Nikon D7000: How exactly do I set the aperture (F stop number)?

Do you not have the camera's manual? If not you can download one here;

In either aperture priority (A) or manual (M) modes, turn the front thumbwheel until the desired aperture is displayed in the LCD window or the viewfinder (the rear thumbwheel is for adjusting shutter speed).
