Nikon D50 stuck on FEE when using nikkor 50mm F1.8D?

I have tried everything I can think of… I have read as many of the fixes as I can without resolution… I tried cleaning the contacts and it is locked in F22. I get the FEE message in both AF and M modes with the reset button doing nothing for me. I would love to use this lens but until I get this sorted out I'm stuck with the kit 18-55 which works perfectly! Any help would be amazing.

I agree there could be something wrong in the lens especially if the 18-55 is working fine.

Did you lock it at f22 before you put the lens on?
I got the FEE error if I tried to lock it with the lens already attached.
You need to lock it first.
