Nikon d40 camera pictures is not taking
Added (1). Yes it take photos in other modes (in manual mode) but not in auto mode, if change the 55-200mm lens it works but it not working in 18-55mm lens. Any picture
Added (2). In camera Auto mode and In lens 18-55mm Auto focus than picture is not coming, if in camera manual mode and In lens 18-55mm manual focus than it works>
More information will be required. Does it take photos in other modes? What are you trying to take a photo of, please describe the motive and the light situation (e.g. "a tree outdoors in bright sunlight" or "a still life, fruits on my table indoors in dim light").
What is the distance to the subject? Is the lens switched to autofocus or manual focus? Does holding the AE-L/AF-L button (at the right next to the viewfinder) at least allow you to take photos (albeit likely out of focus), either in auto mode or in e.g. P A or M mode?
Edit:
Ok… That's odd. How about the camera in manual mode and the lens in autofocus, or the camera in auto mode and the lens on manual focus? It would be helpful to find the decisive setting change that makes it stop working.
Clean metal contact pins on both camera and lens mounts. If it still does not work, bring the lens back to the store you bought it from.
