Nikon D3100 workflow?

Hi

I bought a Nikon D3100 DSLR camera recently and I like to edit videos in my PC with Adobe Premiere CS3. What is its workflow coz I know that in premiere CS5 there's presets for HDSLR editing, but in PP CS3 there's no costume presents for it.

And also after importing the videos from camera to PC, they just don't play smoothly.

My guess is the reason your videos do not play smoothly has more to do with the processor on the graphics card it has.

The basic work-flow is:
* upload all your raw footage.
* look at all your takes and save the best ones in a new file folder named "roughcut" or something like that
* using your script, assemble those saved takes into the basic video you are producing
* "clean" it up, removing unrelated pieces to provide better continuity.
* once you have the completed video, lay down the sound track, including sound effects, Foley, voiceovers and any music.
* when you are happy with your production, add your credits

Here is a sample of such a video

12 years ago I was part of a team that produced "How to" videos using very old Adobe software and the resulting videos were excellent.

Your skills using what ever program you have is most important. Any of the Adobe video products will do what you want

NOTE: If you use 4 gb memory cards, it makes it easy to make backup DVD's of all your raw footage. One card fits on a DVD-/+R with room for production notes associated to that card
