Nikon d3100 too cheap

I went into a store today where the guy advised me that the nikon d3100 was probably the best starter-intermediate camera and he was selling it for £400 with a 18-55 vr lens.

Then I found the same camera online for £225 does this seem dodgy to you?

Also any suggestions on any decent beginner-intermediate cameras?
I'm looking to start a photography course in September and want a camera that i can possibly use to start a career not just for home use thanks.

That internet shop describes itself as an "offshore corporation" in the "about us" section - it'll be gray market imports at best, with no valid warranty. It's also likely it'll be refurbished products, or ones that have other issues - or it may be an outright scam. Stay away from it.

If something on the internet seems to be too good to be true… Well, you can imagine the rest.

Note that they don't even tell you where they are based on that website - good luck trying to sue them if something goes wrong.

When you are in doubt, google.
I wouldn't do it.

Dodgy payment options, not a single contact address anywhere, a price too good to be true. Sounds like fraud to me.

D3100 is nice, same goes for the canon 1100d. 400quid for a d3100 in a real shop is very decent
