Comparability too nikon d3100?

So I was thinking about gettin the nikon d3100 for christmas, since my mom said that she will buy me one thing that I want and that I will know about. I have checked out a lot of cannons and nikons but i'm really in love with the nikon d3100 i wanted to know if you knew anything that just like the nikon d3100 or even better but maybe a little cheaper. Itd be great if you could let me know on what you know or think.

The word is Canon, not cannon - cannon is a weapon, Canon is a camera company.

Nope nothing comparable that's any less money, it doesn't work that way. If its comparable it's going to be the same. If it's a more advanced camera it's going to be more.

There's no cheaper but better than the D3100. If you feel you are liking it, take it.

All dSLR's are basically the same. Here's a list of current prices. My favorite is the first model that offers two kit lenses.

When looking for a dSLR, make sure you are getting one with at least one lens.

There's a Canon EOS T3 for less money, but has one stop lower max ISO, slightly more noise at high ISO speeds, "only" HD video but with no manual controls, 2 less auto focus points and a slightly smaller LCD screen.

Both have the same quality but for the money, D3100 rocks!
