I have a nikon D3100, few months ago the lens was not working it showed me LENS ERROR… I gave my camera for repair, i got it back after a month, it was working fine for a few days but now since it have been repaired, the pics i take are not coming out good at all, half of the pic is dark and half is very bright… I have a 3 year warranty, i would not like to give my camera for repair… It might become more bad, do you think i could exchange it with D5100 under warranty? I haven't sent my camera to Nikon again for repair.

Did't we just answer this question a few minutes ago.

You need to wait for a few hours and see how many answers you get and if they help at all.

My suggestion of calling Nikon may be your best approach. 800. NIKON-UX

My sympathies to you. The camera is useless. It needs to be repaired. If the initial repairs were done by the store then go straight to an authorized Nikon service center. If it was already an authorized Nikon service center that did that to your camera, call Nikon's hotline and send your camera to their international service center. You may have to spend for shipping there.

You might get it exchanged for another D3100 if it can't be fixed, but there's no way Nikon will exchange it for a D5100.

Exchange would depend on the law in the country in which you bought it. In Britain you would have a reasonable case for exchange if repairs under guarantee have proved unsatisfactory. You could possibly use the 'Small Claims Court' to help you (The SCC deals with cases up to certain figure, I think £5, 000)

Maybe ask in Law, noting the country where you are and where you bought it, if different.
