Nikon d7000 broken autofocus Repair or Exchange after 4 day use? - 1
I just purchased a brand new Nikon d7000 and after 4 days of use the Autofocus stopped working!
I was wondering which would be better? To send it to Nikon for Repair? Or To send it back to the Store for an Exchange? Why?
I worry on both because. I don't want to send it away for repair and have something else go wrong with it once I get it back… After all it doesn't really bode well to be having a brand new camera repaired after only 4 days use. And I also worry that if I exchange it I will end up with another problem camera! Thoughts?
While is is possible that the auto-focus on a camera could fail after only 4 days, it is so rare, you may want to do some troublehsooting before sending it in for repair.
Most camera shops have a ten day exchange policy, so the first thing you need to do is visit the shop and have them look at the camera to determine whether the problem is really the camera or lens setup or a quality control issued missed by Nikon at the factory.
Once you know which it is, you can make a better choice on what to do.
No repair; pack it as you got it and go to the store to get another one or your money back
