Nikon D3100 Lens Upgrade - Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD Lens (A005, Nikon Mount)?

Hi, i'm new to photography and would like a new lens with more reach.

I take street photography, city events and landscape shots.

I have a Nikon D3100 with the kit 18-55mm.

I know i need an internal lens focus motor and image stabalisation. (VR, OS etc)

Would this lens work with auto focus and the 'VR' -
Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD Lens (A005, Nikon Mount)?

Yes, it will autofocus and the "VR" will work as well. I also recommend that you look at the AFS Nikkor 70-300mm VR which is also a very similar lens.
