Nikon D3000 memory card slot broken?

My camera which i recently got about a year and a half ago now will not take my memory card the nikon people told me to push on it and it actally broke my memory card. I got a brand new memory card thinking that maybe the one that broke was a little damaged to begin with and went to put it in and it still would not go in and the camera keeps saying that the card may be damaged and do not put it in. The card is not damaged. When i put it in it goes in but then its like something is blocking it and it will not stay in. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong with it or if anyone had the same problem. Also if anyone know how much this kind of repair would cost i paid $700.000 for it and if the repair is going to cost alot is it even worth me getting it repaired or should i just go get a new camera? I really don't have the money to go out and buy a new camera right now but i do need a camera.

Sounds like maybe you put it in backwards? Did you take the card out and take a flashlight and see if something is in there?

$700, 000? First of all, if you paid $700, 000 for this camera, you got ripped off, i mean really? No wonder you don't have money left for repairs, lol. Anyways, i'm guessing it's just a typo-error.

look, i have the same problems with my camera, it just sometimes for some reason, will not read the memory card, and it will also say the memory card is damaged.but, but to take the memory card out and put it back in, several times, this might work.did you also try hooking up your memory card with other device like on your computer or other camera? This way, you'll see if the memory card is really damaged or not.

if it still doesn't work, then you have no choice but send it for repairs, and i hope you sill have warranty.
