Nikon 24-85mm VR or Nikon 16-85mm VR?

I have a Nikon D3100. I'm considering getting either lens because both are a bit similar with the exception of the lens format (one being FX and the other DX).It doesn't really matter for me. Which should I get to replace my 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR kit lens?

Personally, I'd go with the 16-85mm, just to get the added width.

The AF-S 16-85 is a good range

Your camera can use ANY AF-S lens, whether it is a DX or FX lens
