Nikon 1 lens adapted to fit on a Nikon F mount dx?

What would be my end result if I were to put this

18.5mm Nikon 1 lens on my Nikon F bayonet mount D5100. Which is also DX. Would I lose all that mm? Would it be like a 35mm because of the DX.

The Nikon 1 lens is much smaller than DX and won't mount on a D5100. Even if you managed to mount it, you would get only a portion of the image because of massive vigneting. You can buy an adapter to allow F series lenses to be mounted on a Nikon 1 but not the other way round.

It is the other way around there's an F to 1 mount adapter.
But the 1 lenses are due to the its sensor being smaller quite smaller and hence won't fit. Its easy you can put on a mount a bigger lens or an equal sized lens but not a smaller lens.
Okay you can but you get heavy vignetting [that is dark corners] and it will be at most an INTERESTING lens to use. As in "what if I put this CCTV lens on my DSLR" its cute its fun but certainly isn't the quality one seeks in the end.
Not to mention the nikon 1 mount has different electronics. It is the question just how good a Nikon DSLR is capable of handling such data.

Impossible. Like most CSC's the focusing distance from the lens mount to the focal plane is shorter than for an SLR. That is why so many SLR lenses can be adapted to CSC's, but CSC lenses can't be adapted to SLR's.
