NEW SDHC card not working in camera?

I have a brand new Nikon D5100 and new Sandisk 8mb SDHC card. Camera says Card does not work… Any reason why?

Nikon just released a firmware update to fix a problem where the D5100 would not recognize some memory cards.

Also, the memory card needs to be formatted in the camera before you can use it. Refer to your manual for the instructions.

If it's not working at all take it and your camera to the store, show them the problem and exchange or replace the card.
