Making the switch from Canon to Nikon?
I have decided I want to make the switch from Canon to Nikon. I don't really like my Canon Rebel T2i anymore. A HUGE thing that bugs me is the sound it makes when it takes the picture- it is so incredibly loud! Also, I don't know, I don't really like it that much in general anymore after using some of my friends Nikon cameras. I really enjoy the Nikon ones! I'm looking into the Nikon D5100.So, I was wondering where I should sell my camera and equipment (Canon Rebel T2i in excellent condition, a flash, kit lens, f/1.8 50mm lens). I want to get the most out of it with the least hassle possible. Thanks, have a great day!
Added (1). I mean that sound isn't the only thing I don't like! But I did compare the loudness of my current one to my friend's Nikon, and hers is much quieter. And I know it may sound silly, but a lot of my camera use is during a program or speaker or something, and people notice my camera sound. There are multiple other reasons, but as small of a reason it is, the sound would make a big difference. And how do I find the count of how many pictures I've taken?
What you don't like is the sound that all dslr and slr cameras make - that's the mirror flip so light can reach the sensor.
Well your choice I guess.
What's the age of the t2i? What's the shutter count (very important, it's like millage on a used car - a must have). Does everything on the camera work the way it's supposed to? Any problems with it at all? If all is good, and you have the shutter count that's say not about 8 to 10 thousand, I'd think
about $300 to $400.
Congrats on upgrading your equipment to Nikon.
I usually check the "completed" listings on eBay to see what the cameras have been selling for to determine a fair price. You can also look at what used cameras are going for at Adorama and B&H; but realize they get a premium for their used equipment as they offer a 90 day warranty, and have their used equipment checked out by technicians, etc.
So they can usually get a few more dollars for their used equipment for that reason.
You can also look at trade in at a camera shop. Whether or not this becomes a good deal or not depends on your negotiation skills.
Ebay or amazon are great places to sell your old camera and equitment.
