Lenses for nikon d3200?

I want to buy the nikon d3200 and i'm wondering if the Nikon 50mm f1.8G AF-S lens would work on it? Thanks
Added (1). Also, what what lenses would you recommend for portraits, general every day pictures, landscapes etc?
Added (2). What about the Nikon AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D Lens?

Absolutely. All Nikon AF-S lenses will mount, meter, & autofocus with the D3200.
Here's a complete list (updated regularly) of autofocus lenses for the D3200 and other Nikon entry level DSLR's.

I will work just fine.
Any Nikkor AF-S lens will work perfectly with your D3200
You do know that the 50 mm lens is a medium telephoto lens when attached to your cameras used mostly for shooting portraits.

Great lens for portraits.

The 35mm f1.8 AF-S DX might be a better general purpose lens. It is the 135 equivalent of 52.5mm for a normal perspective. With that lens and a good tripod you might actually see some detail captured by those 24 megapixels.
For portraits get the Micro Nikkor 60mm f2.8 AF-S.
