Lens for Nikon D3000?

Gurvinder
Gurvinder

I would like to get 2 lens for D3000.
1st: I want a lens for zooming in and i need a all rounder zoom. Also it must be cheap.
2nd: I want a lens for bluring the background. It must be cheap too.
Ps-I already have 18-55mm lens but it sucks.
Also another q: Is Tokina good for Nikon lens? I mean, will it show as good pics as Nikon Lens? What would you rate tokina as compared to Nikon?
Thanks! =D I'm a amateur photographer but i wana make it big with a small wallet. I know its possible.
Once again thanks alot guys.
Ps. I suck at choosing lens thats why i need a professional help from you all.

Tokina is a very good lens manufacturer.

As for the lenses you want, an all-around lens would be something like the 18-200mm, but it is $600-700.

you can buy the complimentary 55-200mm or 55-300mm lens for around half the price.

as for the portrait lens, the only one that will autofocus on your camera is the new 50mm f/1.4 lens, which runs about $400

An 'all round zoom' would have to be the 18-200mm - if you can't afford Nikon, Sigma do one. As for portrait lenses - the 50mm f1.8 is an excellent cheap lens, but you'll have to manually focus it on your camera.

Tokina make excellent lenses - their 11-16mm ultra wide lens is tack sharp & better than any Nikon equivalent.

What makes the 18-55 suck? I took some of my favorite images with that lens!

If cheap is the name of the game, the 35mm f1.8 is a great, fast, all around lens. It doesn't zoom at all, but you can use it in all kinds of light, and use it to blur backgrounds.

Also, when used properly, the 55-200 can create great portraits. A telephoto lens with a showish aperture (f5.6) will create more blur than will a wide, fast lens. So, if you shot portraits with the 55-200, using the 100-200mm range, and wide open, you would get great bokeh!

For a long time, I shot my D60 with only the 35mm f1.8, and the 55-200, and I got great shots!

1. IF cheap is the foremost concern.http://amzn.com/B0011GGNQ2 Sigma's 18-200 for $249. If you can do without the extreme zoom and you want quality then nikon's 18-105

2.http://amzn.com/B001S2PPT0 nikon's 35mm f1.8 is the cheapst option to really blur backgrounds and do bokeh shots and still get autofocus on your nikon. Quality is quite good

Tokina makes fine lenses, bit like nikon used to be solid optics and little electronics. None of their lenses offers autofocus on your camera.
