Learn more about photography?

I want to learn more about photography. I have a nikon d3100 that has had a good amount of use, but not to the fullest because I lack the knowledge of photography. I want to learn more and become even better to the point I can start doing this as a hobby and maybe side job.

I can't afford the big classes, but willing to try out workshops or things similiar to that. I live in palm beach county, (florida).So if anyone knows of a class/workshop I can take in this area for a decent price, please let me know!

You should be able to find out a ton of information without ever having to take an "official" class. Sign up on message Nikon forums. Sign up on photographyonthenet.com (POTN) It's a Canon based website, but the wealth of knowledge there's outstanding. You are treated with respect as a newbie and can search and ask anything you want. VERY active forum so questions are answered in seconds.
I started my photography business from a hobby. I had no formal training and have taken no formal classes of any sort. Everything I learned I learned by research on the internet. I know have my own business and have also been hired by the Green Bay Packers the last 3 years to team event photos as well as games.

Why not join your local camera club? Choose one that has judged competitions and guest speakers to learn the least expensive way.
