Websites to learn digital photography?

I really want to learn how to take good photos with my Nikon D5000. Does anyone know of good websites where one can find articles and tutorials for beginners?

Added (1). Of course I've read the user manual, so now I'm worrying about websites.

Start by reading the user manual that came with the camera.
That way, you will learn what everything does.
Then start worrying about websites.

The quick way to learn photography is either on a course, or by joining a photography club. Having the tutor right there with you matters, if you get hold of 'the wrong end of the stick' it can be months to 'unlearn' it.

Web sites are great when you understand basic photography, they can expand your horizons by showing you techniques, but you have to be able to understand what they're talking about. It's not rocket science, but the basic concepts are best learnt face to face.

That said here are links to a couple of articles I wrote for our club members one on Exposure (3 pages) and one on Depth of Field (2 pages) which will get you started.

1) learn the basics - composition, angle, light…
2) read the manual front to back - so you know what you are doing with the camera…
3) don't mistake badly taken photos for "art" or creative… They are just bad…
