Is this lens compatible with Nikon D3200?

I wonder if Tamron 17-50 2.8 is compatible with Nikon D3200.

Sort of.

You have an entry level Nikon D3200, so any lens you buy must have a built-in auto=focus motor.

The lens you listed only works with Nikon D7000 or better, ones that have the auto-focus motor in the camera.

You are going to have to find a different lens with the same focal lengths.

Here is the Nikon version of a similar lens.

Here is a link to all the lenses made by Nikon. You need to look at the AF-S lenses. They will work in the auto-focus mode on your camera

The best alternative to Nikkor lenses are those made by Tokina, but they do not make a 17-50 mm lens

Sigma has a 17-50 mm f/2.8 that has the internal auto-focus motor you need for your camera

Realize that Tamron makes lenses for many different camera brands, which are not compatible with another. If you can ascertain that the lens is made for the Nikon F-Mount, then it will work.

Make sure it is the latest version "Tamron SP AF 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di-II LD SP Aspherical" lens, otherwise it may not have the internal focus motor required by your camera to autofocus.

Tamron make lenses for all the major camera manufacturers including Nikon. If it has a Nikon mount it will be compatible.

Yes.

But only if it comes with a Nikon mount. Make sure of that. Then again, if you want to preserve the autofocus function, make sure the lens comes with its own motor.
