Is there a Nikon camera like the Cannon 7D?

I love Nikon and I already have a D60, I'm minoring in photography and its a hobby/side job for me. I've seen pictures taken with the Cannon 7D and they are really interesting so I was just wondering if there was a comparable camera by Nikon?

Absolutely! The D7000 or D300s. However I would choose the D7000 since it's newer and a better value.

The most comparible is the d7000! It feautures great video and photo quality like the 7d plus it has a boatload of intersting features! But the reason why i think the d7000 is beter than the 7d is beacuse of its metering and autofocus system which are light years ahead of the 7d!

I would consider Nikon D3000 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera
10.2-megapixel DX-format imaging sensor for prints up to 20 x 30 inches
Includes 3x 18-55mm Zoom-Nikkor VR Image Stabilization lens
Nikon EXPEED image processing; in-camera image editing and Active D-Lighting
3.0-inch color LCD screen; 170-degree wide-angle viewing

As the others mentioned, the D7000 and D300s are the closest couterparts. The 7D was quite specifically designed to be positioned against the D300s by the way. I'd get the D7000 out of these two.
But you should be aware that those shots that you saw weren't remarkable because of the camera that took them, but because of the skill of the photographer.
This is what an old D70s is capable of:
That's what your very own D60 can do:
Unless you have achieved that level of quality with your D60, any purchase of a new body is purely a luxury one - you don't really need it, as you haven't exhausted the capabilities of your current camera yet.
Otherwise don't think that it'll make your photos any better automatically. The only thing that a new camera body may improve about them is less image noise in low light situations, but that's all.
Of course, it simply might fit the bill and you want something that can be operated more conveniently and such… Or you may want to experiment with better flash support etc. But then be aware that exactly that is what you're paying the money for.

You have the D7000 and D300s. D7000 has 4 more megapixels but is slightly slower at frames per second, and has 39 vs 51AF points.
It has Full HD at 24 with continous AF, while the D300s has HD at 24fps with no auto focus while recording.

Good luck! The site has plenty of tutorials, tips, reviews and guides.

As was mentioned before, if you can't make photos you like with what you have, it's not the camera's fault. I'd spend more time getting to know your D60. Take it out of Auto mode, and expirament with it. It's a wonderful little camera that is perfectly capable of breathtaking results. When your creativity is limited by your camera body, then get a new one. But right now, it sounds like your camera is limited by your creativity.
Still the D7000 is a heck of a camera.
