Is there a DSLR that is equivalent to a nikon D5000?

The D5000 has 12.3 megapixels and can record in 720p HD.

I'm basically just looking for a quality camera that also has a movie mode but the D5000 is pricey. I know I could maybe find a used one (but really, how likely is that? ---'') at a local camera shop but I'd just want to know if there really are any cams that are just as good. I'm open to any brand as well.

Yes, the Pentax K-x is cheaper, and has more features than the D5000.
