Is purchasing this Nikon D60 worth it?
I have received an offer to buy a Nikon D60 purchased in 2009.
In 2009, it retailed for $650.
I have the opprotunity to purchase it for $150, with one lense.
1.In general, is this purchase worth it? Keeping in mind the age.
2. The only "cons" I have found online to this camera is that it has no live preview or video.
Would this be a good purchase or should I just invest in a new DLSR?
To anyone who is familiar with this camera, please leave your opinion/advice.
I would use this camera for photography, but not anything too proffesional.
I used to own a Nikon D60 and worked perfectly. No issues at all, SLR's last a very long time if looked after.
If it is not for professional use then I would suggest purchasing it, however if you want to use it for professional photography then the D60 is not up to todays standards. It is the lens however that is the costly element, I assume you know about your lenses but make sure you have the lens you need with the right focal length else you will be splashing out lots more on one!
I Wish you would have listed what lens it came with. Some lens's cost much more than that so the lens could be worth more than that, Nikon builds good cameras. The D60 is only 6.1 mega pixel but it was a real good sensor in its day. This camera will give you better photos than any new point and shoot you could buy for $150.00. If you are just using it for fun like vacation pictures I would buy it.
To me this would be a great opportunity, i would totally go for it! But if your not into photography or just want to take pictures of random things… I would recommend just getting a digital or a point and shoot camera.
