Is it possible to use an external microphone with the Nikon D90?

I'm stuck between the D90 and D7000 - and money is important.

I want to know: does the D90 have the ability to record sound with an external microphone during movie mode (either via the hot shoe or a line-in microphone jack).

This is a perfect question for Nikon 800. NIKON-UX.

What may be more important is the Full HD video (1080p) and full auto-focus feature on the D7000. Those two features alone may make saving the few extra pennies for the D7000 well worth the wait.

The D90 has a built in mic, it does not have the ability to connect an external (boom, wireless, ect) mic.
