How to use external (maybe boom mic) microphone on Nikon D5000?

HI. How can i use external (maybe boom mic) microphone on Nikon D5000? Could you help me please?

The D5000 does not support external microphones.

So if you want better quality sound, then the only option is to record it separately and then mix it into the video in some video processing software. The camera itself can't do this.
