40" x 60" is the most you can do but I wouldn't want that big coz smaller will give you better results.
You can easily make 24 x 36 inch prints if your image file is:
* In sharp focus
* Shows NO blur caused by camera or subject movement
* Is perfectly exposed (not over or underexposed)
For the best possible large prints it is important to shoot in RAW and after processing, export them as high quality JPEG image files.
I have been able to have 24 x 36 inch prints made from my Nikon D3 which has a 12 mp sensor. With skill, your camera which has a 24 mp sensor can produce higher resolution images and perhaps much larger prints can be made.
The best way to find out the maximum size YOUR images can be printed is to send the image files to a pro or custom lab like BayPhoto and they will tell you what size prints can be made from the specific image files you supplied.
What you also have to factor in, is the viewing distance of the print.
You could print out a 3 meter by 2 meter poster that would look great from 10 meters away but not at arm's length.
There's no limit… You can print billboards from images with that camera.
Anyone that tells you you can only print 11x17" from the camera, or any other number, has no idea what they are doing.
Whatever you can get away with.
